Many kinds of technology are part of the new media, the most important ones are Web 2.0, mashups, teleconferencing, P2P filesharing, VOIP, mobile 2.0, avatar, mircoblog, Amazon's kindle, 3G, synchronize, wiki, podcast, social networks...etc
New media would not exist if the Internet doesn't exist, all kinds of new media are web based and totally depending on the Internet.
The new media is replacing and enhancing the old media because the Internet allows the gethering and convergence of everything, everyone, anytime and anywhere, as of the Super Grand Central Station that all kinds of vechile and people stop by(bus, jetski, plane, rocket, cab, helicopter, advertisers, 4 year old, bloomers, disabled, TV producers, artists, singers, professors, journalists, loney boy, street begger, millionair, weirdo, geek, nerd, top model, President Obama....
