New media and Terrorism:
Quite a brief presentation, seems like not much bad things are going on, may be is a good thing. :-)
Folkxonomy:
It was very helpful to begin with the history of taxonomy, which is closely related to the main topic. The entire presentation was very clear, orientated and specific. Pros and Cons of both Tax and Folk made a objective view and let us decide what is good.
I would like to mention that besides categorizing, Folk is very good at filtering unwanted content. Also, linguistic issues can be a good thing too(ex: I call it blue and you call it aqua), I have too many personal experience that because of this error, I found many surprising/interesting things that I wasn't intend to look for, or I didn't know that I want. The best example is flickr, sometimes I use it as the "Thesaurus" for pictures, incredibly sufficient.
Risks of New Media:
Beautiful layouts, pictures and text size, all of them look so good together, personally beautiful pictures is a +, it usually makes a presentation much more interesting and memory enduring. This presentation includes many rare cases of mis-using the new media, brief coverage on variety of risks with a very objective conclusion. On a large scale, new media is definitely wonderful. The victims of these extreme cases are usually teenagers, I hope that adults would understand that kids DO NOT have the sufficient judgment and mentality to protect themself against these risks and will therefore spend time to explain ethics and how to handle situations in the virtual world.
